Campo o Ciudad / Countryside or City

Versión en Español
Campo o Ciudad

English Version
Countryside or City
Are we actually "designed" to live in cities? Could we turn around this “urban trend”?
This paradox has been considered in several discussions and arguments. What is “having a good life” for you? There are many citizens whose speech supports the “countryside fresh air” and the idea of “living without much stress” but they would really never make the decision of leaving their urban settlements.
Rural inhabitants seem to be relaxed, but they also seem a bit bored. Technology and opportunities have been taking country folks to cities because of different reasons, such as food, education, health (medical care systems), security, culture and trade (among many others).
There is concern about the distribution of population, which shows that almost 50% of the whole world population is living in big cities nowadays. By 2050, this percentage is expected to increase by 75%. Do you imagine how Chinese people will be living in Beijing by that time? If you chucked a coin from a 10th floor you would probably kill at least three or four Chinese people.
What do you think about urban/countryside life styles? Should it be better to have a more distributed population? How would you feel about leaving off your crazy citizen life rhythm and (on the other hand) its comfortable “diversity of everything” to move to the countryside?
In many cases, gadgets, IT connections and a lot of other improvements which were developed to make our existences easier and more enjoyable lead us to the opposite side.
To find out the balance between these styles will be up to each of us!
